This morning I met Tash at Circular Quay, flat white in hand, ready to catch a ferry over to Manly for a little adventuring.
I not so secretly love the ferry ride across the harbour, it is one of the best ways to see Sydney and always makes me feel so blessed to live here.
We met Lorraine at the other side, soaking up the winter sun and ready to show us one of her favourite walks.
We started at Manly Wharf, made our way across to the beach and then headed North.
We wandered through Freshwater towards Curl Curl, and continued up to Dee Why through the bush.
A rest stop to reapply sunscreen, plan trails and look for whales.
In need of refreshment when we reached Dee Why, we topped up our water bottles and grabbed an ice lolly.
I can’t resist anything with blood orange and this Pure Pop did not disappoint.
A heart of stone.
Lorraine lead us to the most perfect picnic spot on our way back towards Curl Curl. We ate a feast of cheese, meat and the most delicious German bread.
Pines trees lining the beach.
Long shadows at 3pm remind me it’s winter despite the heat of the sun just a short while earlier.
The end of an awesome winters day.
