October ends with me feeling sorry for myself after having my wisdom teeth extracted a few days ago. The procedure itself went well; I think I had heard so many horror stories about broken jaws and purple bruised faces that I was pleasantly surprised when I came around. That was until the general anaesthetic wore off and my body decided to punish me. Five days since I ate solid food and the hanger is palpable.
It’s not October’s fault though, it got off to a great start with the long weekend and some beautiful sunny walks. We booked our honeymoon and my Mum & Roy arrive in ten days!
I made him pose in front of this wall and the sunlight and rainbow made a perfect superhero shot. I pick him!
Matching black baseball caps. Mine is Port Adelaide from my brother-in-law-to-be.
We really need to check out the bar at the Archie Rose distillery. It is literally just around the corner from us. The main obstacle is the ultimate distraction of Messina HQ across the road. Gelato or gin?
Watermelons will forever make smile. They remind me of a Sesame Street story book I had when I was a toddler about big things in comparison to small things. Big Bird’s favourite fruit was a watermelon while Little Bird’s was a grape.
These lifeguard towers make the best photos. They are so exotic to a girl from Poole.
A brunch with the girls at The Nine. This visit didn’t live up to being my favourite Bondi spot, hope it was just a blip. Still love these tiles though.
So my obsession with orange (previously coral) seems to have been replaced with yellow. Good thing my fiancé is designing our wedding invites in yellow and grey.
Wedding suit shopping at Woody Roo’s, except it felt like popping in to visit a friend. Loved these cow photos.
Just when I thought we had avoided the Pokemon Go craze! I’ve been getting my teen-app fix from Snapchats and Bitmoji. That is plenty!
Paddington Reservoir Gardens is such a special spot, almost hidden from the road. Next time I am setting myself up on one of those deckchairs with a book to while away an afternoon.
Our special Monday morning marking World Mental Health Week on Bondi Beach with One Wave.
It’s probably a good thing we don’t live too close to the beach, I would be late for work every day with these sunrises.
The Night Noodle Markets came and went without me eating a single bao. I stopped and admired these cranes on a walk to work having a great catch up with my very own Cilla Black, Lex.
The clocks have gone forward and we’re loving making the most of the lighter evenings wandering around our neighbourhood. The sunsets are as good as the sunrises in Sydney.
A reminder to stop and watch the colours change.
He rescued me from a late night working and took me for pizza and red wine at Frankie’s.
We celebrated my beautiful friend Allanah’s birthday at the Opera Bar.
Breakfast with the in-laws-to-be at The Boathouse, Balmoral. I had been nagging Oliver to take me back there since the day I arrived in Sydney.
Sydney’s new (dog) beach – Mackenzies Bay.
Another weekday evening sky.
We made a deal to get up early and go to the beach once a month before work. I am so looking forward to many more of these dates.
I will never tire of surfboard silhouettes.
A name badge for our Mini.
When Happy as Larry isn’t around, Lucio’s is a blimming brilliant substitute for the Friday night pizza craving.
Breakfast at Three Blue Ducks in Rosebery with our friends George & Allanah.
We potted this fiddle leaf fig tree in the hope that my new found green fingers will last and he will grow into his new home.
Finally visited Tramsheds. The old building at Harold Park has been converted into a space for dining, drinking and browsing the little food markets. We chose Garçon for breakfast sheltered from the cold and ate at the bar. Me and pain au chocolats are having a moment and this one did not disappoint. Oliver had an awesome breakfast bao filled with egg, chorizo and Spanish tortilla.
Walking home from work last week.
My favourite album cover. I really need to think about shipping my things over from Poole.
Yellow again. I can’t help it, it makes me happy.
The smell of jasmine getting me excited that my Mum will be here soon. I think she stopped and smelt every plant she passed when she was here last October.
The last supper (before post-dentist liquid diet). I made it a good one!
They were having a DJ battle. London versus New York.
