January 2017. The calm before the storm.
Knowing February and March would be big months for us, with family and friends arriving in Sydney, last minute wedding prep and our honeymoon, we consciously slowed down and made time to relax in January. I started as I meant to go on, spending the very first day of the year reading in the pool.
My favourite tee, To Be Happy.
Grandmaster Flash put on a great show at the Enmore Theatre. Technically supporting The Avalanches but we left a couple of songs into their set (not a fan).
Found this at the in-laws’ garage sale. Surely an essential in any Aussie home?
Beautiful Aussie blooms from our wonderful friends.
Picking out birthday donuts.
Smoothie bowls and catch-ups on the balcony with Tash following her trip to the UK.
We spent some time helping pack up the family home before they moved out this month after 28 years. Oliver used the opportunity to practice his hulk impression.
I see you.
There you are.
The January outdoor cinema trip is becoming a Shawyer family tradition. This year we went to see Lion at the Moonlight Cinema in Centennial Park. Such a wonderful movie and an awesome setting.
After the midweek launch party of the new Lean Bean Fitness studio with Allanah, Bondi treated us to a spectacular multicoloured sky.
The prince and the pea.
Sunday breakfast with Siobhan and Celsuis Coffee Co. A really cool spot right on Kirribilli Wharf, with the harbour lapping underfoot. I ordered the most flavoursome mushrooms and asparagus.
I spy.
Chinese New Year in the CBD.
