With only a few weekends left before our baby arrives, last weekend we drove down to Jervis Bay to spend a couple of days enjoying the winter sunshine.
We drove down to The Woods Retreat on Friday night, settled in to our cottage, bundled up with blankets and played a few round of dominoes while Oli cracked up a bottle of red. Very hygge!
Having arrived in the dark, we were eager to explore when we woke up on Saturday morning. But, being us, first we went in search of coffee. The first place we tried wasn’t good, and seeing as I am only having one coffee per day, a bad coffee just won’t do. The upshot was having St George’s Basin to ourselves in the early morning. I was mesmerised by the water softly lapping against the boat ramp, already deep in relaxation mode.
Giving up on the coffee mission for the time being, we got back to The Woods Retreat in time to explore a little before feeding time.
After brunch (and good coffee) at Pilgrims in Huskisson, we raced to Hyams Beach as the clouds threatened to cover the blue skies. Hyams had been on my to see list for a while and the world famous white sands did not disappoint. So beautiful.
My 34 week bump
After a pub dinner with friends, we spent Saturday evening toasting marshmallows for s’mores around the fire pit as kangaroos and wallabies looked on.
Sunday morning, we fed the chickens, alpacas, goats and cows…and then of course ourselves. We checked out the monthly Huskisson market before starting our journey home, taking the slower but picturesque route via Seven Mile Beach.
