The last day of August. The last day of Winter. My head is slowly adjusting to these upside down seasons, but 25 degree days in winter will always feel like a miracle.
Another beautiful winter weekend in Sydney.
We stayed home on Friday night and binge-watched our latest obsession, The Killing. We ordered the most delicious burgers and sweet potato fries from Ze Pickle and tucked into the 1.5l tub of Messina that Oliver had surprised me with for dessert. The winter sun was shining when we woke up on Sunday, so we jumped in the car and drove south. A former colleague of Oliver’s was opening a cafe in Berrima and it seemed like the perfect excuse to visit the Southern Highland town.
This morning I met Tash at Circular Quay, flat white in hand, ready to catch a ferry over to Manly for a little adventuring.
July has always meant summer to me; school holidays, trips to California, and later beer gardens and picnics. Moving to Sydney literally turned my world upside down (or maybe the right way up) and I am slowly getting used to the fact that July now means winter.
